Competition Entry Form

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Thank you for helping someone aged under 18 to participate in our poetry and art competition. The Kids' Poetry Club podcast exists to share the joy of kids’ poetry and provide a place where kids can listen to each other reading their own original poetry. Last year, over 80,000 kids around the world joined in, in places as far afield as the UK, Ireland, Canada, United States, India, Sri Lanka, China, and Australia. Currently, we're focusing on the wonderful topic of Food & Meals and we’re featuring kids’ poetry and art on our website, in our podcasts, and (for select art entries) on Instagram.

Please read the following carefully before completing the form below, and contact us if you have any questions.

All entries into our poetry and art competitions must be submitted by parents/guardians on behalf of those aged under 18. Following submission, all correspondence is between Kids’ Poetry Club and the parent/guardian. Any submissions entered directly by anyone under 18 will be ignored and not form part of the competition.

By entering a poem or artwork on behalf of someone aged under 18, you are consenting to the following:

  • Kids’ Poetry Club has the right to use (or not use) the poem/art on its website, in social media, and in its podcast, as well as the child’s first name, age, and country where they live.

  • Kids’ Poetry Club has the right to edit (without seeking further approvals from you) any artwork to fit the requirements of its website and social media, and to edit poems for issues related to spelling, grammar, and formatting.

  • Kids’ Poetry Club can contact you to discuss options for recording a poem if it is selected for our podcast. If you consent, Kids’ Poetry Club has the right to use (or not use) a recording that you make and submit, and to edit it without opportunities for you to review it, and publish it in its podcast.

The competition is run within the principles set out in the Kids’ Poetry Club Privacy Policy, as well as the rules within section 6 of our Terms & Conditions. Key passages include:

  • By entering a poem or art, you are confirming that the entry is an original piece of work created by your child, and does not infringe upon the IP rights of others.

  • The personal information provided by you about you and your child is used for processing competition entries, and for notifying Finalists and Winners. All email addresses and email correspondence are deleted at the end of the competition.

  • Kids’ Poetry Club will not require you to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary for your child to participate in the competition.

  • No personal information will be disclosed to third parties; this means that your contact details and names will not be shared with any other businesses and/or added to any mailing lists.

  • You can review your child’s personal information, ask to have it deleted and refuse to allow any further collection or use of your child’s information.

  • You can revoke your consent at any time.

By completing and submitting the form below, you are confirming that you have read, understood, and consent to the statements above, including our Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
