Episode 170 (March 13, 2023)

This week, a strong wind keeps everyone pinned down at the Club. Unable to make it to the bakery, Queenie opts for serving imaginary pastries before hitting upon the idea to use what few ingredients are in the kitchen. Surely even Queenie can’t bake using an old packet of dried spaghetti and a can of what could be sweetcorn? While Queenie bakes, Little Dazzy Donuts announces the winning poetry and art from the recent Pets competition to celebrate 25 winners living in 10 different countries.

Quite The Find
Episode 169 (March 6, 2023)

This week, Queenie and Chicken are spring cleaning in the Club, which means emptying all of the drawers and cupboards. To their surprise, at the back of a cupboard, they find a dusty set of keys. I wonder what they open? If it’s not the Club or the garden shed, what could it be? The Tool Library
Episode 168 (February 27, 2023)

This week, Queenie and Chicken have found their shed almost empty and so are looking for all of the tools that they have loaned to their friends. Episode 167 (February 20, 2023)

This week, Chicken is under the sink trying to figure out why the water isn't running. While she does that, Queenie is busy passing her tools and looking through the boxes they found in the cupboard. Episode 166 (February 13, 2023)

This week, Queenie asks Little Dazzy Donuts for help in figuring out why she is having such strange dreams about Hedgehog each night. After thinking it through, they decide that Queenie is missing her friend while they are hibernating and she ends up making a cake that she knows that Hedgehog would have enjoyed. Episode 165 (February 6, 2023)

This week, Queenie and Chicken are trying out creative ways of using a box of lemons that arrived in the mail. After a few unusual cookie combinations, they hit on the idea of making lemonade. Episode 164 (November 28, 2022)

This week, Queenie is planning a big party to send Hedgehog off to hibernation in style, but is stuck as to what to plan. Making ice-cream cakes and booking clowns turn out to not be winning ideas, and so what will be? Episode 163 (November 21, 2022)

This week, Queenie , Chicken, and Hedgehog return from an early morning hike with many more questions than they have answers. Fortunately, local geography teacher Digger Don is at the end of the phone line to explain where hills and valleys come from, what's underneath grass, and why rivers don't always flow in a straight line. The Cycle Race
Episode 162 (November 14, 2022)

This week, Queenie and Chicken are preparing to cheer Postie Dale as he races past the Club in a 70-mile cycle race. However, their first thought of offering sandwiches and cake may not be the best idea. Surely there's a way that they can use an old cow costume and a saucepan! While Little Dazzy Donuts prepares for his role as the rear end of the cow, he keeps everyone entertained with three poems read by this week's poets: Madeline, Nikita, and Ryan.

Episode 161 (November 7, 2022)

This week, Queenie is organizing a runway show at the Club complete with new major fashion lines from Chicken and the amazing House of Hedgehog. As the sewing machines buzz and material flies around the room, the big question is who will be the runway model? Jigsaw Puzzled
Episode 158 (October 17, 2022)

This week, Queenie and Chicken are tackling a 978 piece jigsaw puzzle while they wait for the rain to stop and wonder whether Hedgehog accidentally walked off with the missing 22 pieces. However, with every piece being a shade of yellow, they are yet to find two that fit together. Perhaps they will have better luck with all of the board games in the cupboard. Stroopwafels
Episode 157 (October 10, 2022)

This week, Queenie, Chicken and Hedgehog are back from their trip to Europe, and Queenie is keen to recreate the yummy stroopwafels that they enjoyed eating in the Netherlands. However, with very few items in the fridge, it could be tough to make something as yummy as a stroopwafel. Let's see how close she gets! Episode 156 (May 30, 2022)

This week, Queenie is locked out of the Club, with Hedgehog asleep inside together with all of the bags for their trip to Europe. With their vacation under threat, can Queenie and Little Dazzy Donuts think of a way to wake up Hedgehog in time? While they noodle, they check out all of the winning poems and art from the recent My Favorite Things competition and celebrate 25 winners living in 7 different countries.

Episode 155 (May 23, 2022)

This week, Queenie is writing a cooking book containing all of her favorite recipes. If only she could remember how to cook any of them. So, to figure them out, she heads into the kitchen to make her infamous banana and broccoli tart. Meanwhile, Little Dazzy Donuts helps Hedgehog to get a passport and acts as the food taster. Along the way, they enjoy poems read by this week's poets: Arlene, Eitan, Manasa, and Scarlett.

It's A Mystery
Episode 154 (May 16, 2022)

This week, Queenie, Chicken, Hedgehog, and Shasta are planning their summer trip with the help of a map, some pins, and red wool. However, it looks like they will need ladders and snorkels to get between locations. Perhaps Little Dazzy Donuts can solve their mystery and help them to settle on an itinerary. The Poetry Parcel
Episode 153 (May 9, 2022)

This week, Queenie is excited to receive a parcel of poems from her friends Lisa and Sheila, who work at Scotland’s National Centre for Languages. The poems are six of the winners of this year's Mother Tongue Other Tongue competition, and are in the languages of Akrikaans, Bulgarian, Doric, French, Italian, Spanish, and Urdu. To find out more about the poems and the competition, Queenie calls up her friends for a chat, and then listens to the poems read by Brooklyn, Hayley, Lucia, Regina, Sabihah, and Simon.

The Weed Patch
Episode 152 (May 2, 2022)

This week, Little Dazzy Donuts arrives at the Club to enjoy some reading only to find that he completely misheard Queenie and they are actually weeding. Fortunately, weeding the veggie garden provides the perfect excuse to learn all about weeds and ways of giving them a new home. The Rock Concert
Episode 151 (April 25, 2022)

This week, Little Dazzy Donuts arrives at the Club ready to enjoy a rock concert only to find that it's more rock and less concert. Fortunately, Queenie has everything under control and soon has a plan to get them through the rocks and to the concert. The Marketing Department
Episode 150 (April 18, 2022)

This week, Little Dazzy Donuts finds himself unexpectedly attending the first ever meeting of the Kids' Poetry Club Marketing Department as Queenie tries to record a short message for the local radio station. With most of the discussion focused on refreshments for the meeting, it could be tough to record anything. Episode 149 (April 11, 2022)

This week, to celebrate Poetry Month, Queenie asks Little Dazzy Donuts for help in writing a poem, and learns all about how to choose a topic for a poem, how to think before writing, how to come up with fun last lines, and ways of writing rhyming and non-rhyming poetry. This week, Queenie, Chicken, and Hedgehog spend three days and nights in the Club listing all of their favorite things. Episode 147 (March 28, 2022)

This week, Queenie invites Little Dazzy Donuts to join everyone at the evening’s Supper Club, but will he be there to enjoy all of the yummy food or will he unexpectedly find himself as the guest speaker? Fortunately, he comes along with all of the winning poems and art from the recent Food & Meals competition and so can announce the Winners as well as play extracts of all of those poems. Along the way, they hear from 24 poets from around the world, and announce 6 winning artists. With luck, there will be some pizza left over for Little Dazzy Donuts to enjoy after he wraps up!

Plan B
Episode 146 (March 21, 2022)

This week, the big day has finally arrived, and Queenie and Chicken are preparing for Hedgehog's return from hibernation. Unfortunately, they find that they need a new plan when the weather turns out to be much wetter than expected. After some noodling, their creativity shines through and they even come up with a new song. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts helps them by playing three poems sent in for the Food & Meals competition by Alexis, Angela, and Susitna.

Goodbye To Winter
Episode 145 (March 14, 2022)

This week, Queenie is preparing a special evening where the friends get together to say goodbye to winter and to do all of the winter activities that they won't be able to do for another nine months. To keep everyone happy, she makes her six bean soup and lasagna, although there's some improvising involved when she doesn't quite have all of the ingredients needed. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts keeps everyone entertained by playing three poems sent in for the Food & Meals competition by Ananya, Olivia, and Sophia.

The Job Interview
Episode 144 (March 7, 2022)

This week, Little Dazzy Donuts finds himself unexpectedly applying for a position in the Pie Club Headquarters team to support the production line staffed by Chicken, Shasta, Henrietta, and Queenie. The key role is all his if only he can pass the test that every other applicant failed. While he fills out the application form and completes the job interview, Little Dazzy Donuts keeps everyone entertained by playing three poems sent in for the Food & Meals competition by Anusha, Evelyn, and Kyle.

Pie Club
Episode 143 (February 28, 2022)

This week, Queenie and Chicken sign up Little Dazzy Donuts as their first member of Pie Club to raise funds for the new community garden. However, they'll need more than one subscriber! So, they seek help from the Sage Advice Hour on the local radio station in the hope that Sage can work out how to get their phones ringing. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts keeps everyone entertained by playing three poems sent in for the current competition by Sanaskriti, Selvalakshmi and Vasuprada.

Roadside Parsnips
Episode 142 (February 21, 2022)

This week. with spring just around the corner, planning is underway for what to plant in the garden, but there are far more ideas than the garden can fit. So, a plan is needed to make the garden bigger. Having ruled out making it longer and wider, will everyone buy into Shasta's idea of making it deeper or will Queenie come to the rescue? Episode 141 (February 14, 2022)

This week, Queenie is waiting for her big box to arrive at the Club so that she can assemble her new mini-trampoline - but, no matter how many times she checks the door, there's still no box. Fortunately, when it does arrive, she has a plan to test how bouncy it is. Episode 140 (February 7, 2022)

This week, Little Dazzy Donuts is heading into the Club on his birthday, but will Queenie remember that it's a special day? And is the large pile of wood inside of the Club a part of a special surprise? All will be revealed, with a little help from Chicken. The Cooking Class Revisited
Episode 139 (December 20, 2021)

Queenie and Chicken are busy working through everything they want to complete before starting a new diary. They've sent all of their friends a "thank you" card to thank them for a fun year, and are now delivering a cake to the local librarians. Making that cake reminds Little Dazzy Donuts of when Queenie arranged a cooking class in the Club, and invited around her friends. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts read three poems and Queenie somehow managed to invent a new type of food.

Mini Golf Revisited
Episode 138 (December 13, 2021)

With Queenie off at the dentist, Little Dazzy Donuts is heading into the Club through the rain to review some of the early entries into the new competition on Food & Meals. Fortunately, the characters at the Club always come up with fun ideas for making the most of wet days, and the weather reminds Little Dazzy Donuts of the time that Queenie and Chicken built a mini golf course inside of the Club and everyone popped in for a round of golf. If only they could agree how to decide the winner!

Au Revoir, Hedgehog
Episode 137 (December 6, 2021)

This week, Queenie is preparing a special goodbye party for Hedgehog, who is starting hibernation for Winter. In addition to an amazing photo collage and lots of party food, Queenie adds to the fun by calling her friend, astrophysicist and space poet, Sean Raymond, who reads out a poem from his space poetry book. All of this gives Queenie an idea for the topic of the next competition.

Space & The Sky Finale!
Episode 136 (November 29, 2021)

This week, Queenie is faced with the tough challenge of deciding who has won for the recent Space & The Sky poetry and art competition. She has managed to narrow it down to the favorite 23 poems, but what happens next? While she figures it out, Little Dazzy Donuts plays three amazing poems from Ajla, Ayla, and Keisha, who all live in Australia. By the time he’s finished, it’s clear that the time has come to celebrate all of the favourite poems and also to announce the art winners!

Episode 135 (November 22, 2021)

This week, Queenie and Chicken are preparing the garden for an evening of Autumn fun, which they're naming the Leafapalooza, complete with leaf jumping, pumpkin bowls, and hot apple cider. Little Dazzy Donuts helps with lots of raking, and also by playing four amazing poems from Eloise in Australia, Prachi and Rex in the United Kingdom, and Sunita in India.

Staring Into Space
Episode 134 (November 15, 2021)

This week, Queenie's recovering from spending the night walking around town with Hedgehog, and is left with lots of questions about the sky and space. To find answers, she calls up astrophysicist and space poet, Sean Raymond, and they talk about what's in the sky, how far away stars are, and whether there are hedgehogs on other planets. This week, Queenie's wondering why everyone is late apart from her and Hedgehog, and then calls up Chef Katie Currant for some advice on how to make apple squares as a treat for when she, Chicken, and Little Dazzy Donuts are preparing the garden for winter. This week, Queenie's planning a "Month of the Hedgehog" with a whole month of hedgehog-related activities prior to Hedgehog starting hibernation. The month will start with a "learn all about hedgehogs" evening, and to help prepare for it, she speaks with April from the Scottish SPCA about hedgehogs, hibernation, and how the SSPCA helps injured and poorly hedgehogs. Episode 131 (October 25, 2021)

This week, Queenie and Chicken are learning all about mushrooms after Hedgehog finds a wonderful new orange mushroom in the garden log pile. They start a mushroom journal, and they're helped along the way by Waxcap Jack from the local Mushroom Club, who tells them all about the wonder of mushrooms. They also listen to three amazing poems from Aarohi in Belgium, Disuli in Sri Lanka, and Onel in Sri Lanka.

The '80s Party
Episode 130 (October 18, 2021)

This week, Little Dazzy Donuts is dressed up in some very bright clashing colorful clothes, all ready for a very unusual '80s party, while Queenie manages the activities and food with help from Judy at the Rising Bun Bakery. Episode 129 (October 11, 2021)

This week, Queenie and Chicken discover that a hedgehog is visiting the garden at night. They make the garden "hedgehog-friendly" before Queenie learns the difference between a hedgehog cake and a cake for a hedgehog. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems on baking and cooking, as well as one from a reader on the gardener's best friend. When evening comes, all three stay up in the hope of seeing the hedgehog!

The Beach

This week, Queenie and Chicken are at the beach. They’re building sand castles, checking out rock pools, eating ice cream, and wading in the sea. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts shares some best practices for enjoying the beach, and reads three beach poems on Crabby the crab, a day at the seaside for mice, and getting sand in your sandals.
